Behind the Range: Harriet's Party

I thought it might be nice to launch this new range properly with a little blog post and some behind the scenes looks into what went into it.

The first card was always going to be a unicorn card!

Harriet's Party is a range inspired by all the things my daughter loved and wanted to be when she was turning 4. She spent most of 2019 talking about what she wanted to do for her birthday party and kept saying that when she grew up she wanted to be a unicorn, amongst other things! She sits down and draws a lot and asks me to draw for her so I started drawing all the things she liked and was interested in. And that's where the range began!

Sketching pirates, superheroes and knights!

I wanted to create cards that weren't overly childish like some others I find and I wanted to challenge the 'usual' unicorn and mermaid cards that you find out there. I stripped everything back, applied a more mature colour palette (so these cards would appeal to the big kids who like dinosaurs and superheroes too!) and added in some delicate gold touches to add a sense of occasion.

Celebrating birthdays but also providing a joyful, young take on other occasions, I'm pleased with how they have turned out! I hope you like them too.
